OUR HISTORY
In 2021, God provided the means for us to purchase a building in Bradenton, FL, marking a significant blessing. Our new home, located at 1611 30th Ave. West, offers ample space for our growing congregation. With 15,000 square feet, including a beautiful sanctuary, spacious fellowship hall, large kitchen, multiple classrooms, and additional offices, we're equipped to serve our community. Additionally, we're delighted to have a commercial playground, soccer field, 9-hole frisbee golf course, basketball court, and abundant parking. We are truly a blessed congregation.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe God is one, manifested according to scripture as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe salvation is found only in Jesus Christ.
We believe the gift of salvation is for every race, creed, color and kindred.
We believe once someone has placed their faith in Jesus Christ, they should follow the Apostles doctrine as given them by Jesus Christ in the Great Commission scriptures. Just as they obeyed the command of Peter in Acts 2:38, we should all likewise Repent of our sin, be baptized in Jesus Name for the remission of our sins and be filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We believe if someone has truly given their life to Jesus, they should pursue a life of holiness and separation from this world's ways so that we may be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
We believe in the power of God thru divine healing and the operation of the gifts of the Spirit.
OUR BISHOP
Bishop Shelby is the founder of Anchor Church which was formerly known as Sarasota Family Worship Center. Bishop Shelby and wife Carol felt the call to come and start a new church in Sarasota in 1993. After much prayer the Shelbys resigned from the church in Chicago and loaded everything they owned and came to Sarasota where they knew no one. The Lord blessed and provided a building and people who were dedicated to working for the Lord. In 25 years the church, Family Worship Center, has had many families come and receive salvation and healing for their spirit and souls. Bishop Shelby has also served as the Florida District Superintendant for the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ for a number of years.

We offer a variety of ministries and programs for all ages, including youth groups, Bible studies, and outreach programs. Our ministries are designed to help our members grow in their faith and serve others in our community.
